Today, this transformation is happening faster than ever. Understanding how the geography of innovation is shifting is essential for countries, policymakers, investors and businesses aiming to stay competitive in a rapidly globalizing economy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Innovation as a Driver of Economic Growth<\/h2>\n<p>In high-income economies, innovation is considered the most powerful engine of productivity. Research shows that innovation \u2014 the creation of new products, technologies or processes \u2014 contributes to <strong data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1141\">up to 80% of total productivity growth<\/strong>.
