This protection can be renewed indefinitely for additional 10-year periods.<br data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"579\" \/>A renewal application can be submitted:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"620\" date, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"763\">\n<p data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"763\"><strong data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"729\">During the 6-month grace period after expiry<\/strong>, subject to an official late fee.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"889\">If a trademark is <strong data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"822\">not renewed within the grace period<\/strong>, the rights granted under Turkish IP Law No. 6769 expire entirely.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"951\"><strong data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"951\">Critical Date Rule Under Turkish IP Law No. 6769<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1115\">According to <strong data-start=\"965\" data-end=\"980\">Article 192<\/strong>, published in the Official Gazette on January 10, 2017, renewals made after January 10, 2018 follow a revised deadline interpretation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1237\">\n<li data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1193\">\n<p data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1193\">The relevant deadline is <strong data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1190\">\u201cthe exact day the protection period ends\u201d<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1237\">\n<p data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1237\">Not the \u201clast day of the relevant month.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1314\">Therefore, accurate deadline tracking is essential to avoid loss of rights.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1321\" data-end=\"1370\"><strong data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1370\">Two-Year Priority Window After Non-Renewal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1595\">If a trademark is not renewed in time and lapses, the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TPTO) will refuse a <strong data-start=\"1482\" data-end=\"1522\">new identical or similar application<\/strong> filed by someone else within <strong data-start=\"1552\" data-end=\"1565\">two years<\/strong>, if the former owner objects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1597\" data-end=\"1809\">This two-year window effectively provides trademark owners with a <strong data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1692\">priority right to re-file<\/strong> their lapsed mark\u2014however, during this period the trademark <strong data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1781\">is not legally protected<\/strong> until a new filing is made.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1816\" data-end=\"1840\"><strong data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1840\">Effect of Renewal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1841\" data-end=\"2016\">A trademark renewal becomes effective <strong data-start=\"1879\" data-end=\"1930\">the day after the previous registration expires<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1934\" \/>Once completed, the renewal is recorded in the Register and published by the TPTO.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2061\"><strong data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2061\">Partial Renewal Is Now Possible<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2062\" data-end=\"2128\">Under Turkish IP Law No. 6769, trademark owners may now choose to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2228\">\n<li data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2159\">\n<p data-start=\"2132\" data-end=\"2159\">Renew <strong data-start=\"2138\" data-end=\"2153\">all classes<\/strong>, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2160\" data-end=\"2228\">\n<p data-start=\"2162\" data-end=\"2228\"><strong data-start=\"2162\" data-end=\"2181\">Partially renew<\/strong> only some of the registered goods or services.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p
