{"id":20960,"date":"2021-04-23T19:02:57","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T19:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eforpatent.com.tr\/?page_id=20960"},"modified":"2021-11-15T16:26:44","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T13:26:44","slug":"design-renewal-in-turkey","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/eforpatent.com.tr\/en\/design-renewal-in-turkey\/","title":{"rendered":"Design Renewal in Turkey"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;19164&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Design Renewal in Turkey<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The duration of a registered\u00a0design is five years from the filing date of the design application and a\u00a0registered design can be protected for a maximum term of 25 years on the condition that the extension fees are paid for consecutive periods of 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>According to Article 192 of the\u00a0<strong>Turkish IP Law No. 6769<\/strong>\u00a0published in the Official Gazette dated 10\/01\/2017 and numbered 29944, in the periods related to the design renewal operations to be made after January 10, 2018, the\u00a0<strong>\u201cthe day in which the protection period ends\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0shall be taken into account instead of \u201clast day of the month in which the protection period ends\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, it is necessary to pay attention to the application dates in order not to suffer the loss of rights in design renewal processes.<\/p>\n<p>An application for renewal\u00a0must be filed during the last 6 months preceding the expiration of the protection period. If an application is not filed within the above mentioned 6-month period, the design may still be renewed within the 6 months following the expiration date, by paying a fine.<\/p>\n<p>EFOR PATENT\u00a0sends periodic reminders for payment during these 6 months and the subsequent 6 months with fine.
